Description

Tree Chem Potassium Fluoride (KF, CAS 7789-23-3) is manufactured by Tree Chem with advanced refining and purification technology to ensure precise composition, high assay, and low impurity levels. We produce three grades of potassium fluoride—ACS Reagent, High Purity, and Dihydrate—to meet diverse requirements in synthesis, surface treatment, and specialty materials.

Our KF offers high fluoride activity, stable thermal behavior, and uniform particle size, making it suitable for organic fluorination, desilylation, and glass etching processes. Each batch is strictly controlled to maintain low chloride, sulfate, and heavy metal content for consistent performance. Tree Chem focuses on high-quality production and global supply of potassium fluoride, serving customers in fine chemical, electronic, and catalyst industries.

Applications

Potassium fluoride is widely used in the electronics and information technology, new energy, food, industrial, welding and flux, and agricultural sectors.

Semiconductors and integrated circuits: Potassium fluoride is an important etchant and cleaning agent. During silicon wafer manufacturing, potassium fluoride solutions can be used to remove oxides and impurities from the wafer surface.

Batteries and energy storage materials: In sodium-ion battery technology, high-purity potassium fluoride plays an important role as a sodium and fluorine source in the preparation of electrode materials and electrolytes. In lithium-ion battery technology, potassium fluoride can effectively improve lithium-ion battery performance.

Food industry: In food preservation, potassium fluoride can be used as a raw material for preservatives. In food processing, potassium fluoride can be used as a processing aid.

Metal surface treatment and electroplating: In metal surface treatment, potassium fluoride can remove oxides and impurities from metal surfaces, improving their cleanliness and lubricity. In electroplating processes, potassium fluoride can be used as a component of plating solutions.

Welding and Fluxes: In welding processes, potassium fluoride is primarily used as a flux. For example, in silver brazing, potassium fluoride is a key component of the flux. Regarding flux technology, lead-free fluxes containing potassium fluoride have been developed for soldering electronic components, and environmentally friendly potassium fluoride fluxes have been developed to reduce environmental pollution.

Agricultural Applications: Potassium is a key nutrient essential for plant growth, and potassium fluoride serves as a source of both potassium and fluorine. In pesticide and plant protection applications, potassium fluoride can be used as an active ingredient or auxiliary ingredient in insecticides. In fungicide applications, potassium fluoride has a certain bactericidal effect, inhibiting the growth and reproduction of various pathogens.

Other Applications: Aerospace materials, biomaterials and tissue engineering, solar energy and photovoltaic materials, water treatment and pollution control, atmospheric pollution control, and solid waste treatment.

Storage & Handling

Store tightly closed in a dry, cool area (2–30 °C). Protect from moisture and acids to prevent HF release. Avoid glass contact during wet operations. Handle with gloves, goggles, and dust control in ventilated areas.

Usage Notice

Industrial and laboratory use only. Avoid contact with acids, skin, and eyes. Follow SDS precautions and local fluoride-handling regulations.

Packaging

Packed in 25 kg PE-lined fiber drums or 25 kg UN-approved HDPE drums. Custom sizes available upon request.
